The Lumin is a device intended for home use to clean and sanitize CPAP accessories or PAP devices, including your mask and water chamber. UV-C light will disinfect up to 99.9% of harmful bacteria, pathogens and fungi that can cause infections and illness.

The Lumin may also be useful as a multipurpose sanitizing device for personal products (toothbrushes, nebulizers, toys, cell phones, hearing aids, dentures etc).

Does the Lumin Cause an Odour?
UV light itself has no odour, and most Lumin users experience no smell. However, if an odour occurs, it may resemble burnt hair. This happens because household dust, which contains dead skin cells, reacts to the UV light, releasing a sulfide molecule found in skin and hair.

What Should I Do If My Lumin Has an Odour?

1. Wipe all four mirrored surfaces inside the drawer with a damp cloth and a small amount of Dawn dish detergent.
2. Dry the surfaces with a paper towel.
3. Run one empty cycle.
4. Let the device sit overnight.

By the next day, the odour should be gone.

Note: The Lumin does not use ozone and will not void your CPAP machine warranty. It is made to disinfect accessories only such as masks, water chambers, and tubing. It does not disinfect the machine itself and has no direct contact with it.

Disclaimer: The Lumin device is designed to sanitize the surface of items using UVC light. Items with interior spaces, such as CPAP hoses, may not receive full exposure to the light and therefore may not be fully sanitized.

Warnings and Safety:

• While lamp breakage is unlikely to affect your health, if it occurs, ventilate the area for 30 minutes. Carefully pick up the pieces, ideally using gloves, place them in a sealed plastic bag, and take them to your local recycling facility. Do not use a vacuum cleaner.
